  • Danica Edge - Studio Director

    Danica Edge, a local talent, embarked on her performing career at the tender age of 4, taking on a lead role in Queensland Music Theatre's production of The Tempest alongside Keith Michelle. Throughout her childhood, she graced the stage in multiple QMT productions and featured in various TV commercials. Danica also spent several years as a member of the Ballet Theatre of Queensland, showcasing her skills in productions across Queensland.

    Upon her relocation to Sydney, Danica successfully graduated from Brent Street with a certificate 4 in performing arts.. Her time in Sydney saw her performances in productions like Bootmen, alongside appearances in TV commercials, music videos, and corporate functions, including notable events like the Fox Studios opening, Stadium Australia opening, NRL 1999 Grand Final, Bee Gees live concert, and Reddy for Redcliffe TV ads and Visitor Information Guide in 2015.

    Danica's commitment to dance is evident in her attainment of all dance exams at every level with CSTD. She holds a full teaching diploma for CSTD Classical Ballet and a Sports Acrobatics coaching certificate. For the past two decades, Danica has dedicated herself to teaching and choreographing for various dance schools in Queensland.

    In the last 18 years, JAM, under Danica's guidance, has taken groups of dancers to prestigious events such as Hollywood Vibe Competition and Convention in the USA (2007), Sydney's Brent Street Summer School (2009 & 2012), a USA tour with attendance at Pulse on Tour in 2011 and 2018. Additionally, she initiated a senior tour program, facilitating selected students' annual trips to Sydney to attend the Australian Dance Festival and audition for full-time schools across the country.

  • MICHAEL EDGE - CREATIVE DIRECTOR

    Hailing from Sydney, Michael Edge underwent extensive training in performing arts, graduating from Newtown High School of the Performing Arts. His educational journey continued with a Certificate 4 in Performing Arts at Brent Street. Michael's career highlights include featuring as a dancer in the film Moulin Rouge and touring Australia in the popular musical Shout! He has showcased his talents in various stage shows and film clips globally, collaborating with renowned artists like Hugh Jackman, David Campbell, Elle Macpherson, John Farnham, Vanessa Amorosi, Marcia Hines, John Paul Young, and Kylie Minogue.

    In addition to his prowess in singing and dancing, Michael has made guest appearances in numerous TV shows, feature films, and TV commercials. His choreography has graced corporate shows, open-air concerts, and functions, including a piece for the Dancing with the Stars TV show.

    For the past two decades, Michael has been directing at various dance schools, high schools, full-time performing arts institutions, conventions, and workshops. Holding certificates in Performing Arts and Workplace Training & Assessment, Michael is a respected figure in the dance community, with many dancers likely having experienced one of his classes.

    Recently, Michael served as the Creative Director of the "2023 Moreton Bay Business & Innovation Awards," achieving significant success.

    In his current role as Creative Director, Michael is eager to introduce new elements to the studio. He takes pride in the fact that a majority of the Jam teachers are former students of the studio, showcasing the lasting impact of his expertise.

  • Jenn Wilson - Ballet Teacher

    Jenn grew up in Newcastle and learnt all aspects of dance from Sandra Haddow. She then furthered her skills and technique until the age of 17 with the legendary Novocastrian teacher, Tessa Maunder O.A.M. Jenn started teaching under the expert guidance of Tessa Maunder at 14 and then studied Ballet fulltime to complete her Advanced Executant Examination and later, her Solo Seal. At 17, she began her professional and choreographic career, travelling to many Asian countries and then back to perform in Australia, before heading off overseas to Europe at 23. She has performed extensively in Films, Stage Shows and TV Commercials both Nationally and Internationally but her favourite was a Featured Dancer in Baz Luhrmann’s Movie, ‘Moulin Rouge’ as “Historic” and then also as Nicole Kidman’s Dance Double. She was invited back again as Nicole’s double, when shooting the $7 million Ad for Chanel No.5. Jenn got to put all her technical Classical training to use and was featured en pointe at the MOULIN ROUGE in Paris, in the “Pas De Deux” and “Pas De Trios” sections of the “Formidable” show. She has trained Pre-Professional Fulltime Students for 10 years and between herself and her Students, have worked with the likes of Kylie Minogue, Guy Sebastian, Delta Goodrem, Flo Rida, Ross Coleman, Chelsea Brown, Todd McKenney and Hugh Jackman. Choreography credits include, MCM Recording Studios in Paris and Theme Park shows in Asia, as well as many nightclubs and fashion parades in Paris, Tokyo, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur, Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Jenn has Adjudicated since 1999 and an Examiner since 2004, in all Genres at a Vocational Level as well as run her own Studios for 17years. Recently she sold her 3 Dance Centre’s in Newcastle and moved up here to beautiful sunny QLD. Jenn is delighted to join the team at JAM and pass on her technical Knowledge to the dancers of the future. Jenn teachers our Ballet classes for Teens, Pre Seniors and Seniors

  • Maddy Parker - Contemporary & Lyrical Teacher

    Born in Brisbane, Maddy embarked on her dance journey at the age of 3, initially training at Che-jazz Dance Centre until the age of 13. At that point, she made the pivotal decision to switch studios and became part of the Jam Performing Arts community. Maddy has graced the stage in various productions, including notable roles in 'Creative Generation: state schools on stage' as a featured dancer, 'The Little Mermaid,' and 'Matilda the Musical,' along with numerous concerts and eisteddfods. In 2012, she joined JAM on a trip to America, performing at renowned venues such as Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Pulse, while also participating in workshops.

    Having completed her CSTD Jazz, Tap, and Classical Examinations, Maddy holds a teacher's certificate in Modern Jazz. Her involvement extended beyond the studio, as she served as the Dance Director for the North Lakes State College Dance Troupe, actively participating from grade 6 through the completion of her high school studies.

    Maddy's academic achievements are equally impressive, as she graduated with a Bachelor in Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Justice (Criminology and Policing). Currently practicing as a Solicitor, Maddy has dedicated over 9 years to teaching at the studio, expressing a commitment to "never give up teaching at Jam Performing Arts.

  • Sonya Wyer

    Sonya Wyer - Ready Set Dance & Hip Hop Teacher

    Sonya has been an integral member of our Jam Performing Arts community for the past 13 years, currently serving as our instructor for Hip Hop, Jazz, and Ready Set Dance. Possessing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, she has undergone extensive training in various styles throughout her educational journey. Sonya is a dynamic and passionate teacher, placing a high emphasis on cultivating strong connections with everyone in her classes. Her teaching approach revolves around fostering student confidence, and she warmly welcomes all participants with a contagious smile

  • Kaila Webb - Ready Set Dance Teacher

    Commencing her dance journey at the age of three, Kaila has consistently pursued formal training ever since, with over a decade of dedicated learning at Jam. Evolving into an outstanding teacher with strong leadership qualities, Kaila now instructs the Ready Set Dance classes for Move & Dance and Tiny Tots. Her profound love and passion for dance have propelled her onto stages, award nights, and festivals across Queensland, showcasing her exceptional talent.

    As part of the JAM community, Kaila had the opportunity to travel to America, where she attended classes at New York's Broadway Dance Centre and participated in the Pulse Dance Summer School in Las Vegas in 2011. The Pulse workshops allowed her to train under the guidance of renowned international instructors and choreographers such as Robert Hoffman, Chris Judd, Laurieann Gibson, and Wade Robson.

    Kaila's commitment to her craft is evident in her completion of Jazz, Tap, and Ballet examinations with CSTD, along with obtaining a full teaching diploma in Modern Jazz. She furthered her academic pursuits with a Bachelor of Primary Education from the Australian Catholic University and currently imparts her knowledge at a local Brisbane Private School. With a passion for teaching children dance, Kaila has shared her expertise by teaching and choreographing for several schools around Brisbane. The Jam community feels fortunate to have Kaila as part of the team.

  • Jackie Hamilton - Ready Set Dance & Ballet Teacher

    Jackie embarked on her stage career, securing one of the lead roles in the Queensland Music Theatre (QMT) production of 'Annie Get Your Gun,' which toured throughout Queensland. Her dance journey has taken her across Queensland and internationally, including three tours to Japan. Throughout her dancing career, Jackie consistently earned 'honours' and 'honours plus' marks in all her CSTD examinations, spanning from Tiny Tots A to Intermediate Ballet.

    Demonstrating a commitment to teaching, Jackie has obtained her student teaching diploma in all CSTD syllabi and a full teaching diploma in CSTD Classical Ballet, complemented by a sports acrobatics coaching certificate. Expanding her expertise, she has also acquired qualifications in infant and remedial massage, along with a focus on injury prevention.

    Over the last 17 years, Jackie has made valuable contributions to the dance community, teaching and choreographing for several schools around Brisbane. She has also been an integral part of the JAM faculty, bringing her wealth of experience to enrich the learning environment.

  • JETT Atkins - Hip Hop Teacher

    Jett Atkins, a dancer, crew member, choreographer, and teacher, was born with an innate passion for dance. At the age of 5, he joined Play the Dance Agency in Canberra, where he spent his formative years honing his craft. While at Play, Jett competed in numerous local, national, and international competitions, both as a crew member and a soloist. One of the highlights of his time at Play was his crew's second-place finish at the World Supremacy Battlegrounds international competition in 2017.

    That same year, at age 11, Jett was selected from thousands of dancers to perform on stage with Justin Bieber during his Australian Purpose Tour Sydney show. In 2017, Jett also won first place in the Australian Dance Crew Championships (ADCC) U12 solo division and, the following year, claimed first place in the varsity solo division of ADCC.

    In 2019, Jett and his family moved to Queensland, where he joined House of Sole and was mentored by the remarkable Taneikah Westcombe. That year, Jett competed with Baby Sole Fam at Dancer’s Paradise in Mexico, securing second place in the youth division. He continued to represent Sole in various crew and solo competitions with significant success. This includes his first-place wins in both the crew and solo divisions at an international Upgrade competition in 2019 and his second-place finish in the ADCC international adult solo division in 2022. Additionally, Jett was a member of Vivid, a crew that represented Australia at HHI Arizona USA 2022.

    Jett's primary interests lie in hip hop and freestyling. His energy and passion for dance are infectious, and he brings a unique style and flair to his choreography. He has completed two seasons of Upskill with @t_sole8, where he discovered his love for sharing his talents and naturally transitioned into teaching.

    With unwavering passion and drive, Jett is excited to join The Zone team, eager to bring his vibe, share his love of dance, and inspire dancers to find their unique style.

  • Sharnee O'Donnell - Singing Teacher

    DesSharnee O'Donnell is a music theatre talent with a rich performance, education, and coaching background. Her journey in the arts began with formal education, earning a Bachelor of Music (Performance) from Central Queensland University in 2023. Sharnee's dedication to honing her craft led her to the prestigious Broadway Dance Centre in New York, where she completed the ISVP Programme in 2016. She also holds a Diploma of Music (Musical Theatre) from the Australian Institute of Music in Sydney, achieved in 2015.

    Sharnee has also taken on lead roles such as Mistress in "Evita", Lauren in "Kinky Boots" and Nessarose/Elphaba in "Wicked” and “Panache” with Kermond Creative Productions. She has worked alongside Matthew Lee Robinson’s concert of his work. She has had involvement with esteemed productions like "Rent," "Spring Awakening," "Guys and Dolls," "Miss Saigon," and "Jesus Christ Superstar" showcases her versatility as a performer.

    In addition to her accomplishments on the stage, Sharnee has made significant contributions as a Vocal Coach and Music Director. Her work on productions like "Wizard of Oz," "Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat," "Elf the Musical," and "Alice in Wonderland" reflects her dedication to guiding and inspiring the next generation of performers.

    Sharnee O'Donnell's artistic journey is marked not only by her exceptional performances but also by her commitment to education and mentorship. Whether on stage or behind the scenes, Sharnee brings her passion for the arts to nurture and develop the talents of aspiring performers.

  • Lee Maller - Ballet Teacher

    Raised in Redcliffe, Lee Maller received her dance training at the Sharon Alback Dance Centre, and she currently holds the CSTD Teachers Diploma in Theatrical, Classical, and Jazz Award. Lee's stage experience includes taking on leading roles in productions like Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, and Snow White with the Sharon Alback Dance Centre. She has also showcased her talents with the Queensland Ballet Theatre in renowned performances such as 'Swan Lake,' 'The Nutcracker,' and 'Sylvia.'

    Beyond traditional dance, Lee's diverse artistic contributions extend to her involvement with the Dick Johnson Racing Team at Surfers Paradise and her design and choreography of Redcliffe's inaugural Rugby League Cheer Squad, the 'Dolphin Dollies.' She also founded the 'Ultimate Poppers,' Redcliffe's first girl rap and break dance crew. Lee's versatility is further evident in her achievements as a national standard artistic roller skater, with notable appearances in 'Skating Fantasia' at Festival Hall, The Paul Sharrat Show, and the Channel 9 commercial 'We'll Show You the Stars.'

    Lee played an integral role in the 'Vicki and the Krystalites Cabaret Show,' touring various club circuits, and collaborated with the Billy Masters Show. Having owned and operated her ballet school for 17 years, Lee retired in 2000 after welcoming twins into her life. Delighted to be a part of the JAM Performing Arts teaching staff, Lee brings her wealth of experience to nurture and guide students in their growth and achievements.

  • JESSICA SWARD - JAZZ & LYRICAL TEACHER

    Jessica's dance journey kicked off in her early years, spanning over a decade at Jam Performing Arts. Within the studio's diverse offerings, she diligently explored every dance style, achieving proficiency by successfully navigating through all CSTD exams and participating in eisteddfods.

    Her time at JAM brought international experiences, as she traveled to the United States with the studio. There, she engaged in classes at the Radix Dance Convention and graced the stages of renowned venues like Disneyland in Anaheim and Universal Studios. Adding to her repertoire, she showcased her talents at the Australian Dance Festival in Sydney, collaborating with esteemed choreographers such as Stephen Tannos, Lauren Elton, Cassie Bartho, and Sophie Holloway.

    Currently immersed in a Bachelor of Physiotherapy program, Jessica aspires to specialize in dance physiotherapy. Drawing from six years of involvement in assisting and teaching at JAM, her mission is to pass on the invaluable lessons and dance education she received from her mentors to the upcoming talents within the studio.

  • Kaylee Stanieg - Ballet & Jazz Teacher

    Description goFor the past 17 years, Kaylee has been deeply involved with Jam Performing Arts, spending 15 years as a dedicated student and the last 2 years as a fully certified CSTD teacher. Her commitment to the studio has extended beyond the studio, as she has proudly represented the organization in various capacities. This includes being part of the Eisteddfod team, participating in dance competitions, and attending dance conventions both in Sydney and the USA.

    In addition to her contributions to jam, Kaylee has expanded her teaching horizons into other domains. She shares her passion for movement with children as young as 7 months old as a coach at My First Gym. At Studio Pilates, she channels her enthusiasm for fitness into guiding others through reformer Pilates sessions. Moreover, on weekends, Kaylee transforms into a party princess, delighting children as a Disney Princess for My Royal Party company.

    Yet, Kaylee's most thrilling chapter awaits her. In March's twilight, she will embark on her greatest adventure yet: relocating to Hong Kong to fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a Disney Princess at Hong Kong Disneyland. This marks the beginning of her professional performance journey at the renowned theme park, promising seven months of enchantment at the happiest place on earth!es here

  • Jess Hetherington - Hip Hop Teacher

    Jessica Hetherington boasts a 13-year dance journey, with a primary focus on Hip Hop. Her remarkable achievements include representing Australia four times at the Hip Hop International Dance Championships in the USA, Arena Singapore, and numerous competitions across Australia. Jessica holds a collection of National and International titles, consistently securing Top 3 positions in major Hip Hop competitions globally. While attending Wavell State High School, she choreographed winning Hip Hop routines for the Wavell Dance Team, achieving 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place at the House of Champions National Competition, 1st place in Junior Secondary Schools Hip Hop at Brisbane Eisteddfod, and 2nd Prize in Student Choreography at the Brisbane Performing Arts Competition.

    Adding to her versatile experience, Jessica has toured with Justice Crew on their National Concert Tour and performed alongside the cast of So You Think You Can Dance at various corporate events. As a teacher, Jessica emphasizes fostering individuality and personal growth among her students.
